Windy Fall Engagement at the State Park | South Haven, Michigan

Saira and Alex are from Indiana, so we met halfway at Van Buren State Park for their engagement session on a VERY breezy Fall evening! Since this was my first time shooting at this location, I arrived a bit early so scope the place out, see how the light was falling, and determine where I’d be taking them for shots. I found a hilly trail that led to the Lake Michigan shoreline and was hoping they’d be game for a few shots by the water, despite the ridiculously wild wind. I’m not kidding you guys, it was nuts! But it was stunning there.
When Saira and Alex arrived, they immediately felt like friends. Such a wonderful feeling especially since I’ll be spending one of the most important days of their lives with them. And when I saw Saira’s dress, I KNEW I needed to take that beauty to the beach. Without any hesitation, they obliged. Ohhh I knew it would be magical, and it was!
After spending just a mere 10 minutes by the water I determined I captured what I wanted and we headed back in to the park where it was much, much calmer. We found some pretty fall colors as a back drop but the love and adorableness of Saira and Alex together were what was really stealing the show here.
Hats off to these two for being adorably perfect and the biggest sports for braving the wind & cold. I had a blast, and can’t wait for next year!
