It’s not often that I have the opportunity to photograph a wedding in Grand Rapids. You would think living so close to the city, all or most of my weddings would be there, but in fact the opposite has been true! I mostly travel all around Michigan for weddings including Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Benton Harbor, and Detroit! I think this is only my THIRD wedding here locally so it was nice sticking around town for a change! And coincidentally, the ceremony was held at Mayflower Church, where I attended preschool (many many moons ago). Such a gorgeous space!

Allison and Jeff, both teachers, are actually from Arizona! I am good friends with Jeff’s sister Melissa from Melissa Anne Floral Co., who helped coordinate their wedding AND arranged all the florals. Oh, and did I mention she was also a bridesmaid?! She wore many hats this day and managed them all gracefully!

I had the opportunity to meet Allie & Jeff last year for their engagement session on the lake shore and after getting to know them both, was extra excited for their June 2019 wedding! We had a beautiful sunny day with a gorgeous sunset. The laughs, the dancing, the emotion, the party, the love - it was real & raw and I’ll always have fond memories of this day!
