Clients to me are more than just that, clients. When I get to serve and spend time with them in such intimate moments, that's special to me. It's more than just a business relationship. Many become friends. And if I'm lucky, they continue to come back and ask me to share in these moments time and time again. This is certainly true of Heather and her family.
I met Heather nearly 4 years ago at the start of my business. One of my first clients. I'm not sure if she knew that at the time since I wasn't really advertising to the world - "hi, I'm a newbie" - but she saw something she liked, and I'm so grateful to her (and all my initial clients), for taking that leap of faith. She hired me to capture her and her son Levi, who was 3 at the time. Soon after I met her boyfriend Eric when she hired me for a family session, and shortly after that she contacted me about her engagement session! Eeeeek! I was so excited for her, and certainly enjoyed partaking in and capturing these special times.
Just days after wrapping her engagement at Central Michigan University where her and Eric met, she secured me for her wedding. Heather and Eric were my 3rd wedding. Their day was nothing short of perfection from their beach ceremony overlooking Lake Michigan to their veranda reception at The Whitcomb in St. Joe. All the details were stunning, but what I truly enjoyed witnessing was Heather, Eric, and Levi becoming a family. I teared up MANY times that day.
I ended up submitting their images to Wedding Day Magazine, and they were accepted for an online blog feature. My first feature, and I'll never forget that.
The following two years I continued doing their family sessions in the Fall, and then I heard the news they were pregnant! Eeeeeek again! Of course I was over the moon excited, and even more so when she reached out for maternity and newborn photos.
So here they are. My beautiful clients turned friends who I get to continue to serve in such a special way. I love providing these memories for them, and can't wait to meet this sweet sweet girl when she arrives. <3
