I shoot very few weddings where I jump in never having met the bride & groom. That was the case for Kaitlin & Adam’s intimate backyard wedding on Gull Lake. However, I did have a sense of who they were as a few weeks previous I photographed Kaitlin’s Matron-of-Honor, Annie, after she welcomed her second daughter. Because her best friend was so warm & sweet, I knew Kaitlin and her family would be, too. That was definitely the case!
Let me put this out into the Universe. I am more than on board with these smaller, intimate wedding celebrations. Your favorite people gathered under twinkling lights having the best time. The food, the music, the conversation…the sun reflecting off the water (in this case) as it slowly retreats for the evening. I love it all. What I find truly appealing for my couples is the abundance of time they get to spend with their loved ones. I love how the day seems slower, and how there is more time just to breath.
I want to thank the Jeske & Burke families for welcoming me into this special celebration of love between Kaitlin & Adam! It was everything I always hope for my couples on a wedding day.
And special shout-out to Kaitlin as on her wedding day she also celebrated 20 weeks of pregnancy AND her 30th birthday!
