Brand Story: Lori Mari Events
Excited to share the brand story of Lori Mari Events! Lori is one of my current brides, and in the same industry working as a wedding & event planner! When she contacted me for brand images for her new solo endeavor, I was all in!
Because Lori is the expert, I went to her with a few questions so you could get a better idea of what she does, and why she is so passionate about it! And don’t forget to scroll through the photos to see her pretty face + the gorgeous table scape she designed right in my home! Girl sure has some talent!
Q: For those who may not know, tell us what it entails to be an event & wedding planner? What are your responsibilities?
Lori: “Wedding planners have a wide variety of skills, but ultimately, we're here to help organize your ideas and bring your vision to life. A wedding, no matter the size, is a production and we as planners are the ones that know how and quite frankly, love to execute those plans. We communicate with the vendors, coordinate deliveries and decorate, organize the wedding procession, keep the day on schedule, and ultimately make executive decisions on your behalf so you can focus on enjoying the day with family and friends. We wear a lot of hats, and each wedding has different priorities based on size and specific client needs, but our goal is always to make sure couples have the wedding they dream of.”
Q: How long have you been in the industry? Has this always been a passion of yours?
Lori: “In 2007 I started working at a large conference center and we hosted multiple weddings every weekend. I loved it, and when I got the opportunity to be on the sales side and help plan, my love of weddings just grew even more. It wasn't until I helped a family friend with their wedding in 2013 that I knew I wanted to do this all the time. Every job I took after that was in the event planning realm, and I just soaked in the knowledge, but it wasn't until this year that I finally said to myself, "Now's the time, let's do this!".”
Q: What do you enjoy most about planning events for your clients?
Lori: “I love the ability to get creative and surprise them with them something they didn't think they could have or set-up their decor in a way they didn't think would work, but does. I also just really enjoy the friendships that are created with clients. There's so much trust involved and each client challenges you in some way and that makes you a better planner. I want to see a smile on their face throughout the day, because that means they're having fun, they're happy, and I'm doing my job.”
