Coconut Mojito | Signature Drink for Wedding Reception | DIY Bride | Laurenda Marie Photography
Eeeeek! You guys, this is my first post in a new series I'm starting with Melissa from Forever and a Day Events and Design (more on her in a bit) called DIY BRIDE! That's right! This is for all your brides-to-be out there, giving you a little added inspiration to help you plan out one of the most important days of your lives - your WEDDING DAY!
As these posts are geared towards the bride, I would be lying if I said they wouldn't be useful to anyone crafty (or thirsty) out there. I mean...who doesn't want to slurp down a Coconut Mojito on a warm summer day? Am I right?!
Back to Melissa! We connected a few weeks back and both fell in love with each others style and vision. With a passion for planning and a dream to reach, she started Forever and a Day Events and Design, a full wedding coordination service. And you guys, she's brilliantly talented at her craft. Go ahead and click on over to her page! I bet you'll find yourself delightfully inspired by all of her beautiful creativity. And if you're a bride in need of a wedding planner in the West Michigan area - don't hesitate to give her a call to see if you're a good fit!
To kick off our first DIY Bride post, Melissa and I bring to you this cool & refreshing Coconut Mojito, a perfect signature drink for your spring or summer reception.
Mixed drinks are fun to sip on, and give your guests a unique option in addition to a standard beer & wine bar. Bonus if your color palette has neutral tones and pops of green to match your signature drink, but definitely not required. The pale green tones of the lime and mint would compliment nearly any spring or summer palette you choose!

Ingredients
10 mint leaves
1 tbsp fresh lime juice
1 tsp sugar
2 oz white rum
2 oz coconut milk
splash of Sprite
Directions
Muddle together the mint leaves, lime juice, and sugar. Add ice and stir in the rum and coconut milk. Top off with Sprite, and garnish with a lime slice and sprig of mint!
For a less sweet, lower calorie option, top with soda water instead of Sprite. Enjoy!
